The Physics Department has 43 full-time faculties, two Distinguished Chair Professors for Research, 9 joint-appointment faculties, 8 adjunct faculties, and 2 project faculties. Our members are dedicated to the undergraduate teaching as well as the academic and extra-curricular performance of the students. The department actively recruits faculty members to maintain our development momentum. A number of full-time teaching assistants, technicians and administration staff personnel support the academic programs, research and other services of the department.
The department constantly maintains a number of researchers from foreign countries as long-term or short-term visiting scholars. The department has made extra efforts to promoted international academic collaboration, to increase the international visibility of the department and NTU, and to broaden the horizon of the faculties and the students through these international exchanges.
We are in close contact with the Center for Condensed Matter Sciences at National Taiwan University. Located in the same building, the two institutes have shared research resources and equipment. Collaboration between the researchers is common. The department has cooperation programs with the Academia Sinica, including its Institute of Physics, Institute of Atomic and Molecular Science, and Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics. The long-term collaboration between adjunct and part-time faculties Academia Sinica and the Physics Department has widely expanded our research strength.
